The Sisterhood Boutique is an African-American web-based doll company with the mission to create dolls that celebrate African-American women who belong in service organizations focused on meeting the various needs of the community, while promoting sisterly connections and entrepreneurial innovations.  For the occasion of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Centennial Celebration, the doll company launched the 2007 edition of the Ivy Rose doll.  Since that time, the Ivy Rose, which specially crafted by Madame Alexander® to celebrate the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., was a featured gift item in the gifting suites at the 2008 Grammys.  The 2007 Ivy Rose was the first doll in a series of Greek Lettered Organizations inspired dolls with the 2008 Ivy Rose and the Ivy doll following.  Now the doll maker is having a closeout sales on Ivy doll in order to make way for the the 2010 limited edition Ivy Rose, which will be available to order on August 24, 2010 on facebook.   They are also packaging the Ivy Rose and Ivy dolls together for a discounted price.

Trinity Designs, Inc. launches collectible dolls inspired by Black Greek Lettered Sororities

In 2008, Alpha Kappa Alpha celebrated her centennial anniversary.  One of the highlights of the AKA centennial celebration was the unveiling of a new pink label Barbie inspired by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  As with all collectible items, there was only a finite amount of dolls available and the AKA Barbie quickly went into back order.  As a result, many didn’t get a chance to purchase the AKA Barbie.

In comes Trinity Designs, Inc.,  a new African-American owned manufacturer and distributor of collectible dolls.  The company has tapped into the collectible doll market, creating ethnically inspired collectible fashion dolls targeted towards elite college sororities and professional occupations.

The first series of dolls include “The Essence of” collection. The first doll being release is “The Essence of a Delta.”  (The owner is a 1991 initate of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.)  Pre-orders for the first doll began on July 1st online.
“The Essence of…” Doll Collection also includes The Essence of a Zeta, The Essence of Lady Ivy, The Essence of Lady Sigma and The Essence of a Lambda, all currently in design phase with preorder campaigns slated for Fall 2010.
